Glad of the sunny weather...hope it continues. A few weeks ago I made up some gingham red check curtains for the kitchen, so today I felt inspired to carry on the theme outside to the front porch. The pretty white cane chair has been crying out for a different cushion ever since we brought it home that day from Olinda, so today I started the task. I had saved some used cotton tea towels in a red check so got to work sewing up a seat pad to fit the chair. I then stuffed the cover in old recycled poly fill and toweling scraps, and finished with french tufting using strong thread. The chair looks lovely now with its freshly made cushion and smart tufted finish while the faded red checked fabric gives it a soft and worn essence.

busy times....
Picked up a box full of mixed veges and large bags of fruit from our local organic co-op so have an abundance to get through, hence the 'vegan poached pear and chocolate cake' today.
Also snuck in a bit of sewing while fulfilling a small alteration task for a customer.
A fourth curtain that has been lacking for some time in the kitchen has finally been satisfied, as well as a recycled old towel. I was able to salvage the better parts to make two hand towels for the laundry.
