Second step towards making up the tapestry cushion cover.
Three weeks on, and owing to the lack of quality suppliers in the local area, I am wondering when the third step will be completed.

Heavy down pour and a drop of 10 degrees this afternoon after a very warm start to the day.

A soy candle, with a handwritten note revealing the all-natural ingredients, and another handmade item in the form of a pot.

I stood in Savers, deliberating.....will these items complement my collection? Am I buying things I dont need? Will I regret the purchases? Well today I brought them home, and was pleased  at how well the lop sided dimpled pot sat with the crumpled hessian and greenery. The tall glass will be put to the test when I some day treat myself to a vegan iced chocolate.
For now, I'll enjoy the cool breeze and sound of  rain outside.

this afternoon

More floats featuring some very nice knot and rope handiwork at a very nice shop in Fitzroy......
Not naming it because I dont want to be found by those searching this shop on the internet.
(Keeping this blog nice and quiet and private. )

Glass floats hanging in a window is a beautiful thing .
Alas , my camera just doesn't seem to pick up on the beautiful nuances and highlights as seen in situ.

This afternoon, feeling the need to create, to learn a new skill, to challenge the grey matter...

As if my hands aren’t busy enough.....
After a little research on the internet , i came across a tutorial from an authentic asian nautical and netting site and made some net for one of the glass floats hanging in the lounge room window.
A case of trial and error it was, as I had not the right equipment but made do using my hands and judging with my eyes only.
A good result was achieved.
If I were to do this again I would use a string less likely to fray than the jute that I have used here.

After a few hours sewing for a client, a relaxing afternoon. Anticipating the late afternoon sun shine as it slowly creeps up the old cabinet. Then a few photos to capture the moment.

4 February 2020

busy day today....
this morning stretched a tapestry that I had made many moons ago.
hoping to pull it into a nice square shape and then make it up into a cushion.

It is rhubarb season so a rhubarb and apple pie was baked this morning .

ANd just minutes ago, dappled light outside.
