4.30 pm in the kitchen

plain and simple.
my thoughts on interior style -
I can appreciate a wide range.....minimalism, maximalism.....
If an interior is created in an orderly, tasteful, thoughtful and above all, functional way, I embrace,  with delight, many different styles.
My own inclination is towards the frugal as I think it makes sense to hand make when I can, grow our own, buy secondhand or source household needs made locally or within Australia. This cupboard I bought from an op shop some 18 years ago. It used to be in my bedroom housing linen, craft materials , odds and ends. ....Now it has  new purpose as pantry in the kitchen.

Made a cushion with some denim fabric in my stash.
Unsure how it would turn out as the denim being a rather thick fabric, was tough to gather up in the centre. With perseverance, i made a success of it..
Self covered some old plastic buttons and it worked a treat. I think it looks like a large open rose.

Making the most of the beautiful weather, some quiet time set aside for myself, .... fossicking around the garden for bits and pieces, I crafted a small offering for spring.
A small bowl made from  a coconut shell - prepared  by scrubbing, cleaning, and seasoning  the wood with tung oil, and a smudge stick of sage nestled in a handful of  nuts from the callistemon tree.
Here's to warmer weather and the vigour of spring!

A sample of two Pincinox pegs came in the mail, and I must say, as an expert on the 'arts of drying frippery and finery in the wind', this peg is impressive. Has a firm grip, yet is easy to use - looks professional,  is robust and looks beautiful. I may just have to buy a set as a good investment.
