Started the day with the wholesome scent of vegan cheese wafting through the home. I attempted a new sourdough recipe with a somewhat artistic spin. Decorated with nasturtium flowers and leaves , chives and calendula petals, all of which I have growing in the potager. They are also scattered throughout the dough before baking.

As it was a beautiful sunny morning , we later went for a walk around the neighborhood, taking the route through the remnant bushland behind the oval. Fossicked for leaf fall and came home with eucalyptus and  ti tree, various scented foliage as well as gumnuts and native flowers. I have temporarily displayed the collection in a bowl, but what I really would like is to find a glass apothecary jar with lid, add some essential oils and use as a potpourri-  the lid to be removed for a quick burst of fragrance.

A walk around the local oval today after the heavy rains..
The site of the oval was once a local tip estimated (circa early 1900's) and after downpours is the best time to fossick for little treasures from the past. Today I found a few bits of broken crockery, an old bottle, the corner of a pretty tile, and the bottom of a glass bottle.

Brr , cold Melbourne afternoon, except for the greenhouse. Its so warm, I purchased a garden chair today so I can sit in here sometimes.
