After eyeing out these old singer machines for years, finally acquired. Singer 1920's. A beautiful robust piece of equipment , I purchased this at some risk as I was unsure as to whether it would function. To my delight there is not much wrong with it, only the belt needed fixing which was easy and a general cleaning of the parts which warranted the purchase of some sewing machine oil. She's in great condition considering her age, very little rust ....still a screw needs replacing in the draw which I will get around to doing one day. In the mean time a postage stamp patchwork is nearly finished. I also needed a darning tool, and after discovering these wooden tools are hard to find in op shops I decided to make my own from eucalyptus wood that had been pruned and left on our nature strip. I've said it before...in this household little goes to waste. These are the items that I will always treasure because I have made them myself.
Beautiful award winning jonquil variety i n the garden has popped up. Jonquil Erlicheer. I guess the name refers to 'early cheer' considering its one of the first bulbs to emerge near Spring.
The nick nacks that I find after heavy rain at the local oval have found a place in the spotlight. I decided to weave some little twig wreaths to assist in hanging them up.
In the hothouse (plastic I'm not fond of but its affordable) are native seedlings of various species of trees shrubs and flowers. Also starting of some edibles here.
